SCORING

Overview

Each race week, teams accumulate points from the 8 drivers on their starting roster. To determine standings, each team's best 20 race-week point totals are used.

Scoring System

Points are awarded to drivers using the following formula:

Total Points = Qualifying Points + Sprint Cup Points

Qualifying Points are awarded to a driver based on his qualifying position where Position 1 receives 43 points, Position 2 receives 42 points, and so forth to Position 43 which receives 1 point. In the event that drivers do not qualify for a race due to weather or other circumstances and thus the starting order is determined by owner points, Qualifying Points are awarded based on the starting order.

Points are accumulated weekly for all 8 drivers on your starting roster to determine your team's total points for that race week. Only Qualifying Points and Sprint Cup points from the listed races are used. A driver's Qualifying Points and Sprint Cup points are added to your team totals only during the week(s) that he is on your starting roster.

If your driver is penalized by NASCAR, your team will not lose the corresponding Sprint Cup points.

Garage drivers' points do not contribute to your team's point total. Points by a driver before being placed on your starting roster do not contribute to your team's point total.

The total points from your team's best 20 race weeks are used to determine division and overall standings.
